Sigils : what are sigils and how do we use them?
We see sigils everywhere, every day, in different shapes and forms. Every logo you see? Is a sigil. Religious symbols you see? Sigil. You see the symbol Om and your mind and entire being only thinks of the Universe, meditation, Shiv ji, and peace. Right? You see a bright yellow M, you know it's Mac Donald's. Yes?

So what are sigils? One simple search on Google will give you a lot of information. For the sake of this post, I'm going to simplify it for you here.
Sigils are graphical and pictoral representation of your intention, affirmation, dream, vision. Think of what you've wanted to achieve - your dream job, your desired weight, that house you wanted, good health, an income of X amount ... When you create a pictoral representation of that dream, it becomes a sigil. So instead of affirming "I am healthy" while meditating, you meditate with the symbol/design you made for the statement 'I am healthy'.
Confusing?
Why would I need a sigil if it's just a symbol? Right?
The entire idea of sigils is based on chaos magic. Simply put, this is used to bypass the programming and conditioning your conscious mind has over certain beliefs. So that your affirmation goes straight to your subconscious, the playfield of manifestation.
Consider this - you are currently in a job that pays you twenty thousand rupees in a month. You obviously want an income of one lakh rupees. Because, why not!? Right? So you start affirming I am earning one lakh rupees every month. Good. Well done. One week you affirm..two weeks you affirm..in a month, let's say, you don't get your desired income figure. Then what happens? You start thinking, calibrating, recalibrating, about the gap between your current salary and your desired salary. Your logical mind comes in with how will you earn one lakh straight from twenty thousand? Are you quitting your job? Are you looking for a new job? Where will you find so much more income from? The whys and the how's and the what's start, because that is the nature of our mind and our conscious self.
Everytime you affirm something like this, consciously you are always aware of the current reality. Hence, you are not able to vibe at the frequency of manifestation. Why? Because you don't truly believe what you're saying. There's one iota of doubt in your mind, in your LoA exercise and affirmations. And that iota comes from the place of knowing your current reality, making it difficult for this intention to seep deeply in your subconscious.
This is where sigils come in.
Imagine now instead of affirming I am earning one lakh rupees every month, you were to draw a symbol that means the same or meditate with that symbol or sleep with that symbol. You conscious mind doesn't know what that symbol truly stands for because after a few tries it forgets what it stands for. The symbolism then goes straight to your subconscious.
That is what Om does. If you keep affirming I am peaceful. But at the same time your mind is thinking of the million checklists you have to go through, will you truly be able to achieve that peaceful state? No. Let's be honest, we all have been there. But if you were to close your eyes and just see the symbol OM in your mind's eye, after a few deep mindful breaths, a sense of calm washes over you. Your checklists wash away and all that remains is the power of Om.
That's the power of sigils. Om is perhaps one of the oldest and one of the most potent sigils today.
How do we work with it?
Once you're have your sigil, you activate it and charge it. There are various methodologies to do the same. Meditating on it, burning it, working out in front of it, etc etc. I do so with energy healing, cling in our angels and ancestors and the Universe to charge the sigil. Again. A simple Google search will tell you all about it. I'm not going to reinvent the wheel here. Once you have charged and activated your sigil, here are the various ways you can't incorporate it:
1. Meditate with it
2. Draw it on you
3. Draw it on a paper and keep it with you
4. Get it printed or keep a paper with the sigil drawn on it in front of you
5. Get it tattooed on you
6. Keep it at your altar
7. Send to the Universe and forget about it
8. Make it your logo / business identity
9. And many more. But the top eight are the most popular ways.
Custom sigils
There are sigils available in the market or on the internet for various things. However, if you're not making it yourself, I suggest you get one made for you. Ask them to make it as simple or as fancy as you want it. A complex design if that's what your soul feels called towards, or a simple one with a few strokes should you be drawn to it. Your customised sigil will be based on your particular intention and affirmation and is customised for you. This adds much more potency to the symbol since it's activated for you, forming a beautiful bridge between the Universe and you, bringing that intention into your physical reality.
As with everything, choose your sigilist wisely. Always check in with your energy and your body upon meeting or communicating with the sigilist. How do they make you feel? When we talk about magick and energy work, it percolates to not just how phenomenal learned that lightworker/healer/tarot reader/sigilist is. It comes down to whether your energies complement one another. Remember, this is someone who you'll be trusting with creating a meaningful symbolism for you, with a motive to heal, or create, or manifest, or release. It becomes imperative that you listen to not just your mind or their "brand" name, but your energy body and how their work makees you feel.
